Marian H. Bergdolt

Marian joined Capital Associates in March 2008. She is responsible for the drafting and review of all leases and related documents, as well as other legal matters for the Company.

Before joining Capital Associates, Marian worked as an in-house lawyer for Highwoods Properties, Inc. drafting, negotiating and reviewing leases and related documents for the Research Triangle Park division and other Highwoods’ divisions. Marian’s other work for Highwoods included revision of the standard office lease used by all Highwoods’ divisions, formal training for Research Triangle Park brokers, assistance with in-house collection matters, assisting in the response to tenant audit results and advising Highwoods in other lease related issues.

Generally, Marian was in private practice prior to her employment with Highwoods. In that capacity, Marian represented business clients, non-profit entities including electric cooperatives, and other clients. Work for those clients included representation in business sales transactions, lease negotiations, business entity formation, non-profit exemption filings, and other matters related to the representation of the business, non-profit or other clients.

Marian earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Davidson College and a Juris Doctorate Degree from West Virginia University College of Law. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar.
