Stephen joined Capital Associates in 2001. Stephen's responsibilities include development of new ventures, investment sales, and brokerage and leasing work for selected clients. In addition, he serves as the asset manager for the 890,000 square foot Keystone Technology Park in the Research Triangle Park. Stephen structured and closed the acquisition of this property in 2006 for approximately $100 million dollars. Prior to joining Capital, Stephen spent 8 years with Wachovia financing commercial real estate projects.
Stephen most recently developed an 83,000 square foot headquarters in Cary, North Carolina for Epic Games. He continues to perform consulting work for the Research Triangle Foundation Board, which oversees the Research Triangle Park. Additionally, Stephen represents several large clients in a broker capacity as the solution provider for their real estate concerns.
Stephen has been named by Business Leader Magazine as one of Business Leader’s 2008 Real Estate Impact Leaders. He is a prior recipient of Space Magazine’s Deal of the Year Award as well as TCAR’s Frontier Award.
Stephen currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and has served on the national Tax and Finance Committee for NAIOP. Additionally, he is a past President of the Research Triangle Chapter of NAIOP and continues to serve on the Research Triangle Chapter’s Board of Directors. Stephen is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Neighbor to Neighbor, an inner city non-profit and is a prior board member of the Triangle Community Coalition. Stephen is a guest lecturer of real estate development at the Kenan-Flagler Executive MBA Program (UNC). He is a member of the North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry (NCCBI).
Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of North Carolina and South Carolina.
